Commercial Building Contractors are a family run Kent-based building contractor with over 30 years experience of building projects in London and the South East.
We specialise in commercial building projects; new build, refurbishment, extensions, fit-outs and maintenance, with particular expertise of school construction works.
The professional team include skilled craftsmen and surveyors ensuring consistent high quality and expertise. Client satisfaction is paramount and we pride ourselves on our excellent customer service and strive to build strong long term relationships with all of our clients.

Chris Browne
Managing Director
From Rainham Kent, Chris has carried out commercial construction work in the South East for over 30 years and thus has vast experience of the building industry and client requirements.
Chris’s technical knowledge is exceptional being able to solve detailed design matters quickly, simply and cost-effectively. He is an expert in Design and Construction and loves adding innovation to traditional building practices.
Chris actively participates in the local community, sponsoring local charities and events and is a School Governor at Borden Grammar School Sittingbourne Kent.
Chris loves motorsport and is Chairman of the Maidstone and Mid Kent Motor Club.

Ali cornwell browne
Director
AIOSH
Ali joined as a partner in the business in 1995 after having over 20 years’ experience at NHS as Procurement & Project Manager. Ali immediately reorganised all office systems, establishing new policies and processes for accounting and project management. She qualified in 1999 as AIOSH Associate of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health and is now responsible for business strategy & planning
Ali shares Chris’s love of motorsport and is his co-driver for the historic rally events they love to do together. Ali is a massive animal lover and enjoys spending time with her horses, dog, cats and any others that turn up to visit, play or just camp out for a bit.
Sarah Hodgkinson
Chief Operating Officer
Sarah joined initially to manage all accounting systems. She created a job costing monitoring system and runs all the Sage accounting and payroll services.
Sarah is now Chris Browne’s right-hand woman, looking after and managing Chris, all staff, the office, all financial matters as well as carrying out site visits for health and safety and attending site progress meetings.
Sarah is responsible for operations, HR and training, policies and procedures.
Sarah loves cooking, health and wellbeing and looking after their pony.
Deborah Turner
Project manager / chartered surveyor
BSc Hons Estate Management MRICS
Deborah joined having previously worked in both local government and private practice.
Deborah has helped introduce new systems and processes to the business to streamline activities both on and off-site. Deborah is mainly responsible for tendering of projects and for project management but loves meeting new clients and building lasting client relationships.
Deborah is the Area Lead for the Federation of Small Businesses Kent and Medway and is active is supporting small business in Kent. Deborah loves being outdoors and running in the countryside.
Richard Stokoe
Quantity surveyor

Richard joined having worked as a quantity surveyor and project manager at several large construction companies. Richard has many years’ experience of overseeing large projects.
Richard works with us on a consultancy basis assisting with cost and project management and tendering.
Richard loves cycling and will often visit sites on his bicycle.
Stuart homewood

Stuart is a fully trained Carpenter/Joiner with years of experience on site and in the joinery workshop.
Stuart is responsible for running major projects and has completed several H&S and construction management courses. He oversees the apprenticeship programme that we run.
Stuart is excellent at translating clients’ wishes into perfect finished results.
MARK TYE
SENIOR SITE MANAGER
Mark is a fully trained Carpenter/Joiner with years of experience on site and in the joinery workshop.
Mark is responsible for large projects and has completed several H&S and construction management courses.
Mark is excellent at liaising with clients, he always understands the most important aspect from their perspective. Customer service is always his priority.
David Sandys
Health & Safety Consultant

David provides all of our Health and Safety training, compliance, CDM compliance documents, risk assessments and method statements.
David ensures work competently and remain fully compliant and updated with all legislation.
David monitors all construction activity, training and subcontractors.
